Need a price estimate approval prior to start. Build a balance board, 18 X 18 X 1 thick, carpeted, probably out of 3/4 inch plywood. The board will have 2 rocker sides mounted to it. The rocker will be 3 1/2 to 4 inches high at the center. The rockers extend the full width of the panel. The mounting to the top needs to be reinforced. The panel will have a handle on one side. The top board needs to have a slot in it so that the rockers are mounted into the top board.
The Balance Board was constructed in April of 2003 for Grant Wood Area Education Agency. It consists of a top, two rockers, and braces. The top and rockers are of 3/4 inch plywood. The braces are of 3/4 inch pine or equivalent. The braces can optionally be extended across the width of the board for added strength. Joints are glued and screwed. The eight edges of the top are rounded over. The top is covered with carpet, which is wrapped over the edges and stapled from below. A handle is attached to one rocker.
