A device to unscrew and screw the barrel of ball point pens for use by people with disabilities. These people are employed to assemble ball point pens in a factory.
A gear head motor with clockwise and counter clockwise rotating shafts rotating about 100 rpm is used. A tube with a rubber insert is used to grip the pen barrel. Some models were constructed so that the motor is activated when the pen is pressed into the receptacle.
RCRV designer is Lester Haerther, and was requested by Options of Linn County. The project was begun Nov 18, 2001 and completed Nov 18, 2001.
