Switch-activated controls for a radio are desired to give a profoundly limited client some element her environment which she can control on her own. Muscle control and vision are both limited, so switches must be simple, prominent and separated from each other.
Client's parents located an acceptable remotely controlled radio. Meanwhile, Mercy Hospital has donated three remote controlled TV set to RCRV for this project. These have been modified to accept any standard RCRV switch plug, which allows channel and on/off selection by the client. They are tested and in inventory, available for other clients.
RCRV designer is Donald Grimm, and was requested by Visiting Nurses Association, Clinton, Donna Bark. The project was begun Feb 3, 2002 and completed Jan 21, 2003.
